Error 500 / Compilation error at Arvixe

Date & Time

Reuben Hernandez

I tried installing .NET CMS at the root of "" but I get the error listed below. I also tried putting it at, which is not a root folder. That's where I really want to put it but I get the same error there. I suspect that I have something misconfigured with Arvixe hosting, because this is the third CMS I've tried to install and all three have given me the same errors. Do you have any ideas?

Here is the start of the detailed error message:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\inetsrv> "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\vbc.exe" /t:library /utf8output /R:"C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Xml\v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089\System.Xml.dll"

You will have to go to the site to get the full message, as this message box won't let me paste the whole error.

1) Unpack the zip file
2) Stop the application pool in your hosting
3) Copy into root directory of your host, all content inside the folder named CMS and all subdirectory
4) Run the application pool in your hosting

If error persist, delete all file in your hosting space and repeat the steps 2, 3, 4.

If error persist please try to copy all file by other ftp client/program

Verify if the version of framework is 4.0

I stopped the application pool
I unzipped the files locally on my home computer
I downloaded and installed Filezilla (FTP) on my home computer
I deleted everything on the website ""
I copied everything from the local folder "CMS" to the website folder "wwwroot"
I restarted the Application pool

I still get "Compilation error".
Compiler Error Message: The compiler failed with error code 1
The Framework is 4.0 (integrated)

What am I doing wrong?
Andrea Bruno

The procedure is correct. Evidently some files are not copied correctly.
Try putting stop the execution of the application on the server before copying the files via FTP. And to launch it once the copy.
